West Crooked Lake
West Crooked Lake is located approximately seven miles northwest of Nevis and 17 miles northeast of Park Rapids in southern Hubbard County. The towering pines of the Paul Bunyan State Forest enhance the beauty of the lake and the resort. West Crooked has a surface area of 279 acres and a maximum depth of 50 feet. There is county-owned land on the west shore of the lake. This provides a carry-in boat access. West Crooked Lake Resort does provide a boat ramp to allow you to launch your own boat and dock space for your boat while staying at the resort.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has classified Minnesota’s lakes into 43 different types based on their physical and chemical characteristics. West Crooked is in lake class 25. Other area lakes in this same classification include the following popular lakes: Belle Taine, Big Mantrap, Ojibway, and Little Sand.
